Sorry if I missed it in a previous post, but who makes this peach/mango salsa??? Sounds divine!!! (And did I read correctly that you are using it on baked potatoes??? Sounds...different! I'm intrigued.)

The peach/mango salsa I get is made by Chachies and I get it at Fred Meyer in the fridge section. I know they have mango salsa at Costco too - not sure of the brand since I don't have a membership there. Haven't really found it elsewhere though I'm sure lots of other stores carry it. And yes, I LOVE it on potatoes! Sounds funny, but it's really yummy! I actuallylike it better than regular salsa on potatoes.

B - cantaloupe
L - seasoned italian potatoes
S - banana
D - potatoes and mango salsa (I'm obsessed)

I didn't do as well this weekend as I'd hoped, but I'm back on track today. I find it so much easier to stick to healthier foods during the week while I'm working. I did take the dogs for about a 45 minute walk yesterday morning and then again today after work. I hope to keep that up since it's good for all of us! :-D Takes the edge off the puppy too.

One Week Down

Postby havfaith » Tue Mar 13, 2007 9:09 pm

One week in and I'm down 4.6 lbs. :-D And that was with a not-so-good weekend.

B - cantaloupe
L - potatoes w/mango salsa
S - jicama, cantaloupe
D - potatoes w/salsa

Took the dogs for another hour-long walk tonight after work. It seemed shorter tonight. I think we're all adjusting to the added activity. :-D

I was called a jicama pusher yesterday. One of the women I work with (and go to lunch with) finally realized I'm a vegetarian and just can't get over it. It's too funny! They've also noticed that I'm eating potatoes every day for lunch. They just think I'm cheap or something. They'll start to notice the loss soon enough. I'm not pointing it out.

I forgot to post yesterday. Congratulations to all those with weight losses. Keep up the good work. I feel kind of icky today. Woke up last night with terrible acid reflux. Haven't experienced that since before I started McDougalling. I'm not sure if I'm still feeling the remnants of that or what, but I'm going to stick to light things today. The good thing is today is day three without coffee. I will admit I've had a bottle of diet coke both Monday and Tuesday. Which is the lesser of two evils? Planning long walk with dog this evening, provided I'm finally home before 10pm.

B: oatmeal

L: instant mashed potatoes and maybe some applesauce

D: baked potato with some kind of soup

B - small banana muffin (my recipe - vegan, whole wheat flour, low sugar)
S - cantaloupe
L - slice pizza (not on the plan, but yummy)
D - mashed potatoes with a bit of soy milk
S - jicama and carrots

They bought us pizza at work today so I splurged and had a slice of pesto/tomato pizza. I'm not perfect on this challenge, but I'm making a lot of progress so far! :-D

Had another hour-long walk with the furry kids after work.

Hi all! I'm feeling much better today.

B: coffee (couldn't stand going without any longer); handful of Kashi Autumn Wheat

S: the tiniest bite of chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting (celebrated a co-worker's birthday) skipped out on a whole piece and was satisfied with just a bite

L: instant mashed potatoes and a can of green beans

D: baked potato with steamed veggies

Tonight is another night that I won't be home until nearly 10pm. I'll try to get in a walk with the dog after I get home, but I'm usually so darn tired when I get in the door that all I want to do is go to bed.
