Average weight loss/week on MWL?

Postby Birdy » Sat Feb 14, 2009 1:49 pm

Hi everyone, I'm curious what your average weight loss is per week on the MWL plan. Do you usually lose about 2 pounds a week or is it more? Does the weight loss stay about the same from week to week? Or does it slow down after you've been doing MWL for a while. If so, how long had you been doing MWL when you noticed the weight loss slowing down and about how much weight are you losing now?

So to summarize my questions:
1. Average weight loss per week while doing MWL =
2. Weight loss from week to week has either, stayed about the same or changed over time?
3. If weight loss has slowed (or increased) over time, how long had you been doing MWL when you noticed a change in the rate of pounds lost per week, and what's your rate of loss now as compared to earlier in the MWL plan?

Hi Birdy, I've been doing MWL since Nov, 1, and in the first month I lost 10 pounds, so I guess that was a little over 2 pounds per week. The first week of Dec I lost 2 pounds, and since then I've lost an average of about 1 and a half pounds per week. Please note, though, that I'm 62 and that I wasn't exercising very regularly during the holidays and during much of January. I'm now exercising 6 days per week, for 30 minutes a day. Also, I'm always McDougall, but not always strict MWL. I don't have any flour products, but I do have a few nuts and avocado, things like that. Good luck to you. You can also look at our MWL threads for the different months, and lots of people post how much they've lost each week. You would find all of that info posted on Thursdays. Take care, LauraA

I'm losing an average of about 2 lbs per week on MWL, which is about the same as my losses on the regular program. I'm not super strict, though -- I don't always do a good job getting the low-calorie veggies in, and I tend to eat more fruit and beans than recommended. The main reason I'm doing MWL is that I have a tendency to overeat flour products, so I am better off avoiding them.

Thanks to each of you for posting. After I'd started this thread, I read more of Laura's posts on the February MWL thread and realized that she's already providing the answers to my questions by the summaries she does. The monthly challenge/support group is a good thread!

There are some good resources out there. One I came across recently was on a lot of topics related to better living with hypnosis. You can sure give it a try. Here is the link http://www.betterlivingwithhypnosis.com ... promo.html. I also noticed that they are offering a free mp3.
