Hi, Joules. You know, I'd probably e-mail Dr. McDougall to ask him. I am assuming you are wanting to lose weight by your question while maintaining breastfeeding. He might have an opinion about how much weight it is safe to lose while not compromising your health or quantity of breastmilk.

if you do email him, would you post his reply for the rest of us?
I've been keeping the Mary Mini in my head for after the baby is born ...

Jules, go to the memberlist button at the bottom of this page and sort by order joined. His address is there near the top. I understand he is very good about replying.

I have not had a reply in over a week, does it usually take this long to hear back from him?

He told us in the 10 day program that it is pretty normal for him to get 60+ emails a day and that if he doesn't keep up every day he doesn't take time to go back and review old emails. So it is possible he either missed it or didn't immediately respond and then didn't get back to it.
In looking at the date of your earlier posts, I see that you probably emailed him during a 10 day program. (He can get very busy during those.) I suggest another email, now that he's not doing a 10 day and see if he responses this time. Or you could also try emailing Mary. She is in the member list as "Mary McD" (# 37 when sorted by join date).

I quote from her reply "As long as you eat enough food so you are taking in enough calories to breastfeed, the mini is fine. Make sure you are also taking B12."
I look forward to doing the mini, i just have to go potatoe shopping and come up with cool recipes
