Squash in Mary's Mini Diet

Postby Gramma Jackie » Wed Nov 21, 2007 8:16 pm

I am going to start Mary's Mini Diet next week and I know she said that you should eat the same starch for every meal for 10 days, such as all potatoes or all rice. I have decided to make squash my main starch for every meal. My question is this--can I use different types of squash for every meal such as acorn squash for one meal, hubbard squash for another meal, etc?

You can use different types of winter squash. The idea is to avoid variety since we know that people eat more when presented with lots of food choices. To me, although I recognize and appreciate the difference in several varieties of squash, it's still eating squash, same basic taste and texture. That is when comparing any variety of squash with potato, sweet potato, or any grain.
