In 6 months my cholesterol went down 55 points!

Postby LunchBox » Wed Oct 07, 2009 3:14 pm

My cholesterol had been going up ten points a year and finally reached 191. I weigh 120 pounds, 5'8". All my siblings and also my parents are on statins, some for familial hypercholesterolemia, so I was watching closely.

I started McDougalling six months ago. My recent test results: Total Cholesterol 136!

Thank you one and all!

Yes, under 150! I'm over 50 years old, so that was my goal.

I do admit I followed a totally vegan (and without added oil), but probably not low-fat diet. I included a lot of nuts, nut butters, and avocados.

I was a little worried because I had had a craving and had eaten way too many pistachios the night before the blood test.

Can you share how much of nuts, nut butters(which nut butters) and avocados were used? even after including those things you still lost 55 lbs, that's amazing..not sure the starting weight etc.
