brain tumor remains stable

Postby Janet-C » Fri Aug 21, 2015 8:14 pm

I'm very inspired by the success stories and testimonials here. Dr. McDougall's diet and lifestyle recommendations really do work, and not just for the common cancers, I say. I have a malignant brain tumor, diagnosed two years ago. I'm at the point where my tumor is expected to progress, but it hasn't, even though I haven't had conventional treatment (chemo) in over seven months now. I give credit for that to Dr. McDougall--thank you!

Hi there,
So wonderful to hear about your success story. In short I concerned about my grandmother who was just re-diagnosed with cancer, to the brain this time and im desperate to find help through a whole foods diet for her. I was wondering if there was any information you could give me that would help get her on the right path, i would be so gratefull to you. anything at all, I know theres stuff out there Im just having a hard time knowing where to start.

Basically, the starch solution, no animal foods, no processed foods, no oils or fats, no sugar.

Look at Dr McDougalls webinars as he covers cancer in some of them.

Hello, sorry to Marostega99 that my reply's been so slow coming. In addition to Dr. McDougall, another great resource is Michael Greger, MD (who's been a presenter at Dr. McDougall's programs). Here's a video from his website that addresses brain tumors specifically. I eat plain spinach every day! Best wishes. Janet

malignant brain tumor

Postby Janet-C » Thu Feb 25, 2016 12:56 am

I had an MRI last month and my malignant brain tumor (a grade III glioma) continues to show no progression, even though I stopped treatment (chemo) more than a year ago. The tumor was diagnosed three years ago, and my prognosis at the time was 3-4 years. So glad I discovered Dr. McDougall and colleagues!

Thanks everyone for reading my previous posts and for your replies. My most recent MRI (now scheduled at six- month intervals) showed no new tumor/progression. If only all doctors were aware of and willing/able to teach their patients this information (ten minute appointments aren’t adequate)!

That's fabulous news.

Janet, when did you start to a McDougall diet - was it before or after your diagnosis?

Hi Vegankit, I started following the Mcdougall diet (strictly) shortly after diagnosis...had been vegetarian for many years before that.
