This is great. :-D

Since reading about the 72 year old Bodybuilder I have recomitted myself to Bodybuilding as I lose weight. :-D I have always been a fan of Bodybuilding since I was a teen. I just never had the support of family or friends to persue that dream, I am more confident now and know I can do this. I also know I have you guys here for support (no pressure). :-D

Are we also going to use this forum for the "Who's Moving ?".

Sunny, which article are you referring to? I need inspiration.

My new goal - now that I'm able to stick with MWL and actually lose weight for a change (!) - is to start exercising again.

I do my exercise in doors in the basement, I have my weights there and also a TV/DVD/VCR combo so can so any of my exercise tapes/DVD's in privacy and in any weather. No excuses.
It IS the food! :unibrow:

It was under "How long have you been McDougalling" in the MWL forum
here is the link to the story:
http://www.whudat.com/news/pages/1006/news_102706_2.php

and DianeR found a video of this woman :

Now I figure if she started out at 72 and is now I think 86, this is not only inspiring but encouraging. :-D

Well, there goes my "no point in bodybuilding after age 35" excuse. :-) (I had heard you couldn't build any new muscle after that age - guess that was another myth!)

That is a myth. Bodybuilding has always had a Masters class for men and woman 40 and over (I think that is the age). Some people are existing bodybuilders and some are new to the sport. :-D

I've always heard that weight training, if anything, is more important for those over 35. From around that age, muscle is lost each year if you do nothing.

It is never too late to start. The benefits of weight training can actually be more dramatic for seniors.

For example, see:
