The recipe was originally posted to a CR list and has been modified slightly (as I learn more) :) The soup listed under my Basic Recipes thread is another updated and simplified version.

Here is a recipe I have been working on that is very simple and easy and loaded with nutrients. I think I will call it "longevity soup" :)

Longevity Soup
1 box POMI Chopped Tomatoes (no salt added)
1 box POMI Strained Tomatoes (no Salt added)
56 oz Water
16 oz Sliced Mushrooms (i use different varieties)
1 bunch Celery, sliced
1 Medium Onion, diced
About 3 lbs of Mixed frozen vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, Carrots, Zucchini, Yellow Squash, String Beans, etc)
1 16 oz bag Kale
1 14oz Can Garbanzo Beans (No Salt Added)
1 14oz Can Adzuki Beans (No Salt Added)

Throw everything in a huge pot, bring to a boil, and then simmer for 30 minutes. You can also add some fresh garlic and fresh ginger also. I keep half to eat in the next day or two and freeze half.

I "season" it with some Mrs Dash's Table Blend and eat about 2 bowls for dinner

Add in 250 Calories of either cooked Brown Rice, potato or whole wheat pasta.

Here is the one from the Basic Recipes..

Dish 4 - Longevity Soup

1) 1 box POMI chopped tomatoes, 1 box POMI strained tomatoes
2) Your favorite beans (I use kidney or garbanzo)
3) 1.5- 2 lbs of Your favorite frozen veggies plus 1 lb of frozen collards
4) Your favorite starch (potato, sweet potato rice, barley) cooked separate then added
5) your favorite seasoning (I use fresh ginger, garlic)

Place tomatoes in large pot. Add in 2 28 oz cans of water. Then add in all other ingredients. Bring to a boil and then simmer 15 minutes. Enjoy!

The first two threads I've read this morning refer to "a CR list". What is a CR list?

A "list" refers to a "list-serve" which is a discussion group that is facilitated over the internet.

So, you would join the list, and then you receive emails from the members. You can choose to get emails as they happen, once a day or none at all and instead, visit the website where they are archived.

Yahoo and Google are to websites that maintain active lists.

Many groups, professional, social, political, etc, maintain lists.

This may help

http://www.listserve.com/

CR refers to Calorie Restriction and the CR community has several active "lists."
