Hi Jeff,
We are enrolled in the Sept 11 on line Virtual class and we are trying to get the pre class blood tests. I found a life extension package called Chemistry Panel & Complete Blood Count (CBC) Blood Test with:
This panel contains the following tests:
Blood Sugar:
Fasting glucose
Kidney Function:
Uric acid
BUN (blood urea nitrogen)
Creatinine
BUN/creatinine ratio
eGFR (estimated glomerular filtration rate)
Electrolytes and Minerals:
Sodium
Potassium
Chloride
Calcium
Phosphorus
Iron
Liver Function:
Total protein
Albumin
Globulin
Albumin/globulin ratio
Bilirubin
Alkaline phosphatase
LDH (lactate dehydrogenase)
AST (aspartate aminotransferase)
ALT (alanine transaminase)
Lipid Profile:
Total cholesterol
Triglycerides
HDL cholesterol
LDL cholesterol (calc.)
VLDL cholesterol (calc.)
Total cholesterol/HDL ratio
Estimated CHD risk
Complete Blood Count:
Red blood cell count
Hemoglobin
Hematocrit
MCV (mean corpuscular volume)
MCH (mean corpuscular hemoglobin)
MCHC (mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration)
RDW (red blood cell distribution)
White blood cell count
Differential count
Platelet count
I thought the fasting glucose would include the A1C, and it looks like the lipids are there. Can you please tell me if this will cover me for the pre blood work? or do I need to order other tests? Sorry to post in the forum, but we've never done blood work outside of a doctor's orders before and all this is a bit overwhelming.I think my wife is going with LabCorp for each test, but this life extension price is too good to pass up if it covers me for everything.
Thank you very much. See you (virtually) in September.
Mark
