Your blog is fabulous, Becky! It's always fun to keep up with your culinary adventures, and sometimes when leafing thru the big book i try to guess what you're going to try next (generally wrong about this, though!)

Thank you for sharing your experiments and adaptations with us - well written blog with inspirational photos (never fail to inspire great hunger pangs, even if we just enjoyed a meal around here!)

HOW do you manage to do all that cooking in your rv?
what would Scooby do?

HOW do you manage to do all that cooking in your rv?

Thank you for the very nice words about my blog, eaufraiche, I really appreciate that! :) LOL - maybe you could tell me what you are guessing I'm going to try next to help me figure it out. Sometimes I just can't decide what to make next. :?

I'm glad my photos inspire you, I'm not always able to capture the exact picture I'm after, so I always take about six different shots from different angles, with and without the flash, to try to get the very best one.

Hehe…it can be a bit of a challenge to cook in an RV, but my husband has made some adaptations in our 5th wheel for full time living so I have been able to keep all my favorite kitchen tools and appliances. I have a crockpot, Vitamix, food processor, pressure cooker, all the regular assortment of pots and pans, wok, baking dishes, and so forth. I really haven't had to give up anything that I had when we lived in a fixed residence.

The hardest part is the smaller range (only 3 burners, and the oven is a bit smaller than normal, with no broiler capabilities), and limited counter space. I do get creative with turning different areas around the 5th wheel into temporary counter space when a cooking project requires me to do so. I'm determined!

Thanks again for visiting my blog and giving me such positive feedback!

Hee, hee, wondered what you'd say Becky! Like Becky and her husband, we live full time in our RV, but it's a motorhome. Different floor plans. And, like Becky's husband, mine made modifications for full timing. We never used the sofa in the house, except for storage of library books, so that space was up for grabs. There is a computer station, under which are two spice drawers holding a total of 56 jars. Mine hates doing dishes, and added an apartment sized dishwasher. I kept most of my kitchen appliances, rice cooker, food processor, pressure cooker, and much to the man's frustration, most of my collection of Tupperware containers. I miss the toaster oven though. If only I could figure out where to store one, I'd love to get a new one. Hmmm, maybe over the winter I need to think about that one. The toy stove and oven, my nicknames for the three burner stove and microwave/convection oven, are often frustrating, but you learn to adapt. The rice cooker almost always goes outside, leaving a bit more counter space. Both of us enjoy cooking, so you just adapt to what you've got, yes, determined indeed.

How about something with blueberries and peaches Becky? Once upon a time I had a pound cake recipe from Taste of Home magazine that was so good, but recipes like that are in the past.

Yummy, blueberries and peaches do sound good! I'll explore! :-)

Ah, yes, the days of Taste of Home, loved that magazine, but most recipes totally undoable nowadays. However, I have fun trying to convert those over as well now and again. :!:
