I got this book out to find a recipe for a potluck with very exact ingredient limitations and made the "Autumn Harvest Salad". Sweet potatoes, pears and apples as the main ingredients. It was wonderful and will definitely be a potluck choice for me in the future.

Hi yarnpetter! I just looked up the recipe and it does look quite wonderful, I'll have to put this on the menu soon. Just wondering, did you make any substitutions for the 1/3 cup oil it called for, or just leave it out altogether? I'll bet this was very pretty to look at as well as delicious.

Thanks yarnpetter! I have also used the "thick water" method in the past for salad dressings. Handy!

Becky, I have been perusing your extremely helpful (and delicious) blog. Thanks so much for all the time and effort you've put into giving us more choices for low-fat whole plant foods eating.
