Day 6

Postby Idgie » Thu Feb 14, 2019 10:04 am

Catching some momentum, and increasing the ratio of MWL to McD meals. Eating leftover soup for breakfast. I have a lot of compliant food in the house and at work, so if I can just avoid the potluck room at work and the fish fry at the cafeteria today, I'll be golden.

Food today:
MWL B: leftover soup and a cup of tea
MWL L: brown rice (two bowls)
MWL S: raw instant oatmeal (I was out of everything else, and the other option was the dessert potluck, which I did NOT indulge in, go me!)
McD D: partner made me whole-wheat veggie pizza. So good!

Yes, avoiding the Valentine's Treats at work...the struggle is real.

But you're impressive, no lie! Keep up the good eating

Day 7

Postby Idgie » Fri Feb 15, 2019 9:24 am

Thanks, buns! I was so proud of myself for not eating a single thing from the dessert potluck room. My food was boring but satisfying and I didn't wake up feeling potluck regret. :)

Today is a holiday so I'm home all day. I've got plenty of good food in the house, so I can safely just wing it today. It's day 7, so if I make it through today compliantly, I get to buy myself any book I want.

MWL B: Veggie soup
McD S: tea with sweetened almond milk
MWL L: corn on the cob
McD S: taro cakes and mango salsa
McD S: dates
MWL D: veggie soup
MWL S: more corn
McD S: toast with hummus and tomato

Current top contenders are this cookbook and this book of stories.

I bought the book of stories. I also had a little food splurge. I'm gonna let myself do that after 7 days of on-plan eating if I feel like it, but only for one meal or snack, not for a whole day or anything.

Day 8

Postby Idgie » Sat Feb 16, 2019 9:03 pm

Decent day. Did some shopping, stayed on plan with food, and my daughter found a place (her rent was raised way too high, so she started looking a couple weeks ago).

McD B: Cup of tea with sweetened almond milk
MWL L: black rice blend (black rice, black lentils, black quinoa) with cucumber salad (cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, balsamic vinegar, a little salt, garlic)
McD 2nd Lunch: veggie burger on homemade 100% whole wheat bun
McD S: non-dairy boba tea with lychee jelly
McD D: veggie calzone with homemade 100% whole wheat crust

Congrats, Idgie! The book of stories looks very interesting. Let us know what you think. I love short stories.

Ooh, I like the look of that book! Sci-Fi....sounds super interesting. I'm going to steal this from you...the idea. Award myself with a new book after a week of (some mini goal towards my larger goals) Awesome!

What was your food splurge?

Day 10

Postby Idgie » Mon Feb 18, 2019 3:43 pm

Thanks, buns! The splurge was a few pieces of candy and I put some mayo on my veggie burger. Nothing major, just stuff I usually avoid.

I came really close to buying dinner for me and the kid at the Hawaiian bbq place where there is ZERO compliant food, but I talked myself out of it. I've been having some pretty bad blood sugar issues lately (hypoglycemia, not diabetes) and it does make good judgment a little harder, so I'm proud of myself for sticking to plan.

Today's food:

MWL B: roasted sweet potatoes and green beans with a little balsamic
McD S: tea with sweetened almond milk
McD S: tea and butternut squash soup
MWL L: curried veg soup and melon
McD S: pecans and dates (not pictured)
MWL D: black rice blend, veggie curry, green beans, melon (forgot to take a picture)

Congrats, Idgie, on not dealing with your rough day by shoveling comforting foods into the pie hole. :) I always appreciate that accomplishment.
