What's Cookin' on Tuesday?

Postby Jan Tz » Tue Oct 31, 2006 5:25 am

Breakfast: pancakes with syrup. Not a great nutritional choice for breakfast.

Morning Snack: oatmeal with soymilk and raisins. If I had just had this for breakfast in the first place, I wouldn't be eating it for a snack in the second place.

Lunch: brown rice, with veggies and sweet & sour sauce.

Dinner, at work: sweet potatoes with cinnamon and chopped walnuts; carrots; peaches and mandarin oranges (this dinner was brought to me by the color "orange")

Happy Halloween everyone!

This was yesterday's food:

B - Cherry Pie Crockpot oats, very small amt. of maple sugar

L - shredded salad, roasted vegetables (parsnips, Brussels sprouts, white potatoes) with some Bragg's

snacks during the day: banana, apple, 2 corn tortillas with 1/2 cup refried beans

S - Delicious chop suey and baked "egg" rolls by recipes from Sandie's site. http://www.geocities.com/sandieb101/Chopsuey.html I also made some sweet and sour sauce to go with but it wasn't real successful, too sour. This meal was one of the best I've made as a McDougaller and we will be repeating it soon!

I have a feeling that I overdid the Bragg's and have gained some water weight so am going no where near the scales today! Oh well, it was worth it!
It IS the food! :unibrow:

Jan Tz, love your Orange Menu!!! 8)

Today I hope to stick to my planned menu. Lately, I've been adding to it (maybe a bowl of cereal at night, maybe a sample of what I'm preparing for a road trip or just the next day's menu). That's not good for my weight loss.

Here is my plan for today:
B - pan fried potato with onion

L - mock tuna salad (mashed garbanzo beans, celery, onion, pickle relish, and a fatfree mayo) on a large bed of lettuce with carrot sticks on the side and apple slices

D - large bowl of potato/cabbage soup and leftover steamed cauliflower with cheaze sauce

S - popcorn

Have a Wonderful Day!! :)

Breakfast: oatmeal

Snack: more oatmeal (leftovers)

Lunch: 1/2 cup leftover mashed potatoes from last night's dinner, steamed veggies topped with butternut squash sauce

Dinner: crockpot potatoes with salsa (and because I know I won't be able to resist, I confess I will have a couple of Halloween treats this evening - any left over little chocolate things will be stomped on and tossed into the fire pit so as to resist further temptation).

Breakfast-smoothie with banana, nectarine, strawberries, red leaf lettuce, oats, cinnamon, 1 tsp. flax

Lunch-brown rice, steamed red potatoes, squash, and carrots

Dinner-hummous (chickpeas are in the crockpot with some onion and garlic), baked no salt tortilla chips, cut up veggies

Snack-sorbet, popcorn

I don't use fitday very often but was curious how I have been doing. So for today-
1282 Calories
9% Fat
80% Carbs
12% Protein
(This figures out to 101% but I guess that is the closest fitday could do!)
