100% MWL Compliant For 30 Days (and beyond)

Postby debparker » Wed Mar 20, 2019 3:27 am

Happy spring! Good day for a fresh start.

I began eating starch based the first of the year and did great for a while. Then I starting getting sloppy... then really sloppy. And now I'm almost off the road and into the woods. So, I thought it might help to have some accountability. Plus 30 clean, compliant MWL days would be a real confidence booster.

This has to be my way of life, normal. There is no other option.

Food today:
B - oatmeal with blueberries, strawberries, mango (frozen mix)
L - veg soup with beans
D - potatoes & broccoli
S - veg soup, nice cream made from blueberries, strawberries & mango (yum!)

The veg soup was homemade with tomatoes, green beans, onions, carrots, green peas, corn, potatoes & chickpeas. Probably 50/50 starches and veggies. Not the best I've ever made but it hit the spot on this cold, rainy day. I think I will either make a loaf or burgers out of the rest (by adding oats).

I had lost more then that then like you I started eating things I shouldn't and gained a lot back. Even now I keep letting oil back in from eating out when I'm out and about and don't have time to run home<always Vegan not always McDougall Friendly>. Told my hubby the other day that I need to start running to the store and grabbing something from the produce section like I used to do when I was doing this and sticking to it better. Didn't realize how much I was grabbing junk instead of going to store and getting good food till I my swelling of my feet and legs started and doctors had me start keeping daily weight and food charts. Days I do the worst are day I eat unhealthy and few days after.

I know just what you mean, Rosey. One day in and already I feel so much better. Have you thought about posting your daily menus on here? It really helps me stay on the straight and narrow.

This is helping me so much... I don't know why I didn't do it sooner. There have already been several instances where I almost grabbed something (like my hubby's oatmeal with brown sugar and raisins) and knowing I had to truthfully write it down stopped me in my tracks. Tonight we're going shopping, which triggers "pick something up" signals in my brain. I'll be ready for it by taking a two day supply of MWL food with me! :D

Food today:
B - oatmeal with blueberries, strawberries, mango (frozen mix)
L - stewed potatoes, onions, carrots (topped with a spoon full of veg soup)
D - mixed veggies & beans over rice
S - nice cream made from blueberries, strawberries & mango

Went shopping and didn't pick up any bad food!! Feels good.

I used to do that. I probably should again but it always seems so boring when I do because I eat the same thing for a lot of my meals.

This might be the cleanest I have ever eaten in my life and it's like I can hear my body saying, "Yes, yes, yes, this is the way!" So many little subtle things that I can't really put my finger on and then the really loud and clear, like this...

The weekend is here! Eeesh. The weekend has been my downfall many times.
Today's food:
3/23/19
B - none, not hungry
D - veg soup
S -

You would think I would be getting tired of veg soup but I do declare, it gets better every day!!

Sweet Potato Cookies
4 oz mashed sweet potato
1/2 c oatmeal
cinnamon to taste
Mix together and form into balls. Press down and bake until firm. I did mine in the panini press and they turned out ok. Ok enough that I felt like I had a treat.

The original recipe calls for bananas rather than sweet potatoes and can be found here... https://hurrythefoodup.com/banana-oat-fitness-cookies/
