Starflower, I'm sorry you lost 8 pounds of potatoes. I store my potatoes in a brown market bag in our garage where it is cool.

Thanks, Daydream. I only bought them a few days before, but I appreciate your tip on how to store them when I find better ones. :-D

Today was a good day. I’ve found a few favorite foods to keep on hand to make things simple. I don’t mind not having a big variety. I prefer it. I did 10/10 on the checklist. :-D

I had trouble staying on track this afternoon, but resisted temptation. I did 10/10 on the checklist. :-D

I fell into the pleasure trap for almost two weeks. I gained a few pounds, and I’m not feeling as well as before because of it. It’s time to try harder and plan more carefully to make compliance easier. I decided to restart this afternoon after already eating some non-compliant food. Food for the rest of the day is prepared.

10-Point Checklist for The McDougall Program (9/10)

1) 70 - 90% minimally processed starches. YES

2) 10 - 30% fruits/non-starchy vegetables. YES

3) Eliminate animal foods. YES

4) Eliminate fake meats and cheeses. YES

5) Eliminate added oil. NO

6) Limit intake of higher-fat plant foods. YES

7) Limit added sugars and salts. YES

8 ) Avoid liquid calories. NO

9) Eat when hungry until comfortably full. YES

10) 30 minutes of moderate exercise. YES

Hey Stephanie!

Thank you! What’s done is done, right? The tomatoey starchy soup you posted in your journal looks so good! I’m going to try it next week. Wishing you a wonderful week, too! :-D

The pleasure trap is still calling my name, but I’m not answering today. I stayed on plan with a pot of cabbage and carrot soup, a pot of rice, and some mashed potatoes and peas. I had fruit for dessert.

I was mostly on plan today. There was an extra serving of nuts and a little bit of added oil. I bought some tortillas and fruit for something quick to eat, so the higher-fat foods won’t be so tempting.
