today i'm going to be serious about working on flexibility. i don't know if i can do it at my age, but lets see if i can fold over and touch my head to my knees in one year.

i would love to be able to easily do yoga poses.

I was at a grocery store checker where it said over 60 discount. i took off my hat to show my grays to see if the checker would give it to me. He asked if I was over 60 and I said. not quite but he gave it to me anyway.

No denying, I am a senior but I going a strong one. I'd like to optimize my exercise.

i learned from a book that we need certain type of exercise to stay strong. squats, Dead lifts, standing over head presses, and bench presses. For cardio, walking is good for as active rest or cardio for the unconditioned, and daily short period is better than long and less frequent. i learned from the book, that rowing and airdyne bike are on the cardio recommendations list. i hope to get new exercise equipment next year.

my spouse is not into fitness and healthy diet. He supportive of me living as i like. I love to meet a friend in town who has my interest.

Hi Matcha!!! :-D

Cannot love enough how you are embracing exercise!!! So awesome!!! :)

In kind of the same situation you mention, where my spouse will totally support what I am doing with diet and exercise --- but pretty unlikely he will join me...

Hope you have an amazing day!

Cheers,
Stephanie

Journal,

Beautiful day here. i slacked off, gained a few pounds, body is sore and creaky. i feel very good when i do everything right but i have trouble maintaining. i thought i had my exercise habit down. i sometimes have to eat with others who don't eat like i do and that makes me eat stuff that tempts me.

Recently, an overweight relative told me that she carries a virus and has an autoimmune disease. She thinks that it will eventually kill her. i don't think so and encouraged her to change her lifestyle and lose weight. She preferred to listen to her sister the MD and remain hopeless.

it is so important for us to be as healthy as we can be so we can be an example plus i think the results of dedication will really appear later when we remain healthy.

i really can't stand how my husband doesn't put effort to lose his pot belly.

Goals for today tues 1/24/23
1. exercise circuit
2. 15 min cardio x 2
3. finish eating early
4. stationary bike instead of watching my husband dinner.

My joints crack easily. i feel best when i am consistent about exercise but I am a bit lazy. i had a thought yesterday. i think i will try high bungee jumping when I am old. Maybe when i have no fear of the inevitable. My daughter said she will go with me.

i am about 112 pounds, would like to get back to my lightest 108. Sometimes I can easily lose pound or more overnight, not lately though

yesterday i wore my weighted vest for hours and i exercises with it the total gym, did tricep dip, and stretched out. i lost my strength to do pull ups but i think it will come back in a few days.

for accountability, todays exercise goal

1. exercise video after a meal, it sort of fun
2. total gym, my hips and legs need it
3. use dumbbells and kettlebells, they haven't been touched for days, kettlebells are great for cardio
4. pull up and chin ups, what happened, they used to be my favorite.

Hi Matcha!! :)

Way to go on the exercise! :D

Have to say, you don't sound lazy in the slightest...

The bungee jumping sounds like kind of a bucket list thing?? I did a tandem skydive when I hit 30... but not sure if I would do it again (although it was awesome)...

Hope that you enjoy the weekend!
