"All cure comes from within out, from the head down and in reverse order as the symptoms have appeared in the body."

Hi groundhogg with two "g"'s. (groundhog with more G-usto!) You shared this in another great thread started by Collinsa :

"I know in my case, I went gluten free in February for other reasons, not having any thryroid issues that I was aware of, and about 2 months into it I went into some weird phase of shaky restlessness that lasted about 2 weeks...I thought it might be the coffee (alghtouh coffee has never done that to me before), but I changed nothing and it eventually let up on its own, and I've wondered a time or two if my thyroid was changing, somehow...I just couldn't hold still or sit still for that two or three weeks.
Anyway, that's no proof of anything, neither here nor there...."

When I read your ideas/ponderings about the thyroid connection, I immediately thought of "Herings Law of Cure", which was first presented to me as a theory many years ago, but which has seemed to prove true many times over in my life, and in observations and experiences.

You probably already know about this "Law" because of your curious nature (which I identify with), but in case you haven't, here are just a couple inputs from my folder on "Herings Law of Cure", that you might want to look over as you have time. Could possibly be an interesting subject to share on your radio show. I am NOT promoting homeopathy. Nor am I against it. The information I want to share are the parts re: "Herings Law of Cure".

**********************************
"...The ills that were once suppressed by drugs [or otherwise suppressed] are now released. As one continues a healthful pattern of living through good nutritional [and lifestyle] practices..., one may experience several healing crises, each time releasing past problems.

This is a sure sign that the right path has been taken and that the body has gained the strength to heal itself naturally. Our body does its best with what we give it, therefore, we must learn to work with Nature and not against it.

Typically, as a condition proceeds toward the chronic stage, the allopathic approach calls for powerful drugs to suppress symptoms. To begin the reversal path and get back to a higher level of health, we must retrace the path back, from illness back to wellness. To bring about a reversal, and a healing, we must understand that suppression is the wrong way to go.

Rejuvenation cannot be accomplished by using drugs or suppressing symptoms. Elimination of toxic material must be assisted rather than repressed.

'There is a tremendous need to make a distinction between the symptoms of a disease process and those of the healing process.'-- Dr. Bernard Jensen

Herings Law of Cure explains the distinct differences between the development of the disease process and the healing process. There are differences between the symptoms manifested by disease from the symptoms of healing a disease.

Herings Law of Cure states, "All cure comes from within out, from the head down and in reverse order as the symptoms have appeared in the body."

As we adopt right eating and living habits, our body reacts to these new behaviors. The state of health will retrace backward via the same path that led us to disease in the first place.

By working toward a healing crisis you can activate the location of chronic settlements and toxins that create weakness in the body. When the old waste matter is activated, or stirred up, it returns to the bloodstream and begins the process of being eliminated from the body. It isn't pleasant to experience, but necessary for healing to occur. As the toxins become free flowing, they work their way out through the eliminative channels and orifices of the body. [As our magnificient body was designed to do.]

Don't settle for short term suppression.... Dr. Bernard Jensen sums it up well. He said, "As you have built up conditions in the body through foods, pollution, overwork, enervation, lifestyle, etc., we have to learn our lesson and go back over them and relive them, so to speak. You can expect all of those problems to return as you get well."

From another article

"...the Law of Cure can be used to evaluate the success of any type of treatment."

IS IT CURED?

Constantine Hering was born January 1, 1800, in Oschatz Germany. He emigrated to the United States in 1830... One of Hering's greatest contributions is

"Hering's Law of Cure".

Based on keen observations (of thousands of patients), Dr. Hering concluded the curative process must occur in five directions, which he elucidated as follows:

1) From above downward
2) From inside to outside
3) From center to periphery
4) From more important to less important
5) From new to old

It is truly amazing that he came to these conclusions without the help of laboratory tests or microscopes. Yet nearly 150 years later, modern science supports Dr. Hering's conclusions. One can find this in any decent embryology textbook. As an embryo develops, it grows along specific axes in specific directions. These lines of growth and development correspond to Dr. Hering's direction of cure.

The maintenance of cells and tissues in the developed body also occurs in these directions. For example, there is an electrical gradient within the body. The brain and other vital organs have a higher electrical charge than the skin and digestive tract. Therefore, nutrients naturally flow from the more important to less important organs ensuring that the vital organs are nourished first. Doesn't that make sense?

The key to applying these rules is to know which one should be seen at a particular time. There has confusion and disagreement over this. The result has been that to a large degree, practitioners have ceased to follow Hering's Law.

Recently, through the deeper understanding of embryology and other life sciences, there are doctors who have resolved these problems. As a result, Hering's Law will prove to be invaluable to understanding the curative process. While Hering was a devout homeopath, one may use his Law of Cure to evaluate the success of any type of treatment.

For example, a patient has a skin rash which is treated topically with a cream (drug, herb, vitamin, etc.). The rash improves 80%, but the patient starts having seizures. Of the two symptoms, the seizures are obviously affecting the more important organ (brain). Any treatment which improves now the rash first is a mistake and will lead to more serious problems. The curative process must cure the seizures first. In fact, as the seizures improve, the skin will likely get worse.

With an understanding of Hering's Law, we can see that the cure is heading in the right direction and not panic about the exacerbation. Without that information, we might try to treat the worsening rash more aggressively and interfere with the healing.

The beauty of Hering's Law of Cure is that it is applicable to all diseases and all therapies. Now that this Law is supported by the most recent scientific research, it should become the standard to which all therapies are held. Using such an approach will prove which methods of treatment are the most effective and which the most dangerous. The question is whether most health care practitioners are willing to put their system to the test!..."

A DOUBLE POST! How did THAT happen...?

Postby Clary » Mon Nov 06, 2006 10:16 am

A first on this board, I think!

I am having a lot of trouble with using links here on this discussion board (they won't open) , as well as "styling text" with the provided links. I highlight the portion I want to style, then when I try to click on the appropriate link, the highlighting disappears and the link has no effect.

I got shut down by Internet Explorer a few minutes ago while using the board, also. Anyone else having problems?

Wow  Clary, thanks for that! As to the double posts...I think I've seen it once or twice before on this board...so it seems to happen sometimes...somehow. As to the Internet explorer...they told us here at work that a new one is now updating onto computers that are set to allow the automatic updates, and all the ensuing issues, etc. SO maybe either your computer did update, or shoulda and didn't...but that 's as far as I go with techie talk, cuz I'm already WAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay beyond my comprehension right now  .

Now as to Hering's Law and all of that...NOPE, I didn't know about that...and thank you for letting us all in on that.

From my own recent experience...I gotta say...I'm starting to believe there really is something to the whole detox notion. I've heard many people say things about detoxing, and I do believe the term is used in too many situations, etc., like whenever anything at all happens lots of people seem quick to yell DETOX  when they don't really know the history of the person's health, diet, or whatever currently is going on, etc. But in the past my thinking was rather neutral...neither opposed nor really much into the notion of detox.

However, reading these things you posted, thinking a little bit (OUCH :-P ), and then applying this to my own recent experience with the whole gluten turmoil in my life...yeah...I think it makes a lot of sense. The newer symptoms in me went away very quickly without the gluten...the old symptoms didn't go away, but shifted about strangely...this all happened within the first two-four weeks of gluten free...which surprised me kinda...I mean it all just went about in strange ways I hadn't anticipated. This gave me a clue that gluten was indeed responsible for my problems, but I was confused because things weren't necessarily better, just a lot different...except for the more recent things, as I said, which seemed to disappear right away.

Then the jittery thing, which really scared the daylights outta me... because I was really afraid something was happening to my thyroid and I am equally, or possibly MORE afraid of doctors making a mess of things (micromanaging techniques...looking too hard at one thing which is symptomatic of bigger things, etc...you know how they do  , so I was confused by that and then relieved when it finally stopped in two or three weeks.

Then I got these strange skin things...which are now much different and seem less noticeable and hopefully going away...but I did not have a clue as to what they were or what they meant  .

All the while, my first symptom back 10 or 15 years ago was just a bunch of gas, which I had never been prone to before. Now that's about the last symptom going completely away...it stood alone for a few weeks when the storm of other intestinal things finally began subsiding...and then I sorta recognized it as the same thing I'd experienced over a decade ago when I first went vegetarian   .

This would follow the course you described in the Hering's Law snigglets you posted.

Now I AM of course gonna have to look into this further, ya know  .

I like your little disclaimers about the homeopathic stuff... :D ...sure you don't have your own radio show????? :)

Thanks again...these things make more sense to me all the time. Even though I think they are widely misunderstood and used haphazardly (wrong word...can't think  ) by people too often...but yeah, I do believe there seems to be some sort of backward movement of symptom regression and sort of an unfolding of particulars as the whole body attempts to get back to its well state.

Thanks for those thoughts! :D

I was able to delete the double post because the 2nd one had not been responded to yet. I like that feature.
