HDL Newsletter Articles for Easy Access

Postby Caroveggie » Fri Apr 29, 2022 10:16 am

I thought I'd share these 2 newsletter articles since this came up in my life. I am once again losing weight and getting healthy, although this time I'm meaning to make it for life, eating this way. So my latest blood panel looked great although the doctor said the HDL was low and started recommended salmon, fish, etc.. and when I said I was vegan started suggesting some vegan substitutes... I told him I would research further since I knew I had read a long time ago not to be too concerned with HDL, and thankfully after some searching, I found a few articles regarding HDL cholesterol. So I thought I'd share because I think this is likely to come up with others - even as the doctors see your numbers improve, they still worry about the HDL cholesterol being low, and if you're not careful, you could easily think you need to eat fish and then all your improvements would go away. So here are the articles:

April 2004 Newsletter: HDL "Good" Cholesterol Is Not Worth Your Attention (scroll to bottom to see the article):

Sept 2003 Newsletter: Good Cholesterol "Worsens" with Dr. McDougall?:

Hope this helps you on your health journey!
