Balsamig vinegar consumption

Postby Mincevam » Fri Aug 26, 2022 3:31 am

Hello,

How much of the balsamic vinegar is good per meal? Would that stop the weight loos?
Thanks

Oh, this is a great question! I know that the thin, more acidic vinegars are not problematic, but I am wondering about the sweeter ones like the ones from California Balsamic that have about 7 to 8 grams of naturally occurring sugar. Is that okay for our arterial health, for the endothelial lining, also could consuming it lead to a fatty liver?

This got me looking at my 18yr aged balsamic (that I've had longer than I care to mention) and it doesn't have a nutrition label on it. I did find an 18-yr that looked like it would be ok in moderation at 10 cal/tbsp and 2 grams of sugar [Ingredients: Grape must, wine vinegar, naturally occurring sulfites. No caramel color or additional ingredients]. I'm in no way affiliated and haven't tried it myself, but here's the link if anyone would like it: https://theolivecellar.com/product/18-y ... c-vinegar/

I did like the flavor the aged balsamic gave to a salad but I haven't been using it for quite some time. My mom had gotten them from a little shop and they told her there wasn't any added sugar, but since I have no idea what the sugar content is I'll probably toss my old ones out, hadn't even thought about the sugar
