Ok trying to post again. I don't have a scale, bit I am measuring body parts. I've been on for five days now and have lost 1/2inch around the thigh and 1 inch around the middle. Looking forward to support and encouragement. Angelblue

Weigh day is Friday or Saturday. Debbie usually puts together the weekly stats Saturday after noon, so post your weight change by then. No need to post your weight if you don't want to, just what you lost or gained that week.

Where did you find the ticker? Thanks. Angelblue

You can double click on mine and it will take you to the Tickerfactory website. When you are there, there is a little box that says create your own. Click there and you can make one for yourself.

2 questions today

1. How do I make one of those cute weight trackers? With the horses or just with the line that shows my progress?
2. I eat a slow cook oatmeal for breakfast almost every day and love it. I want to make it taste chocolaty but I'm not sure what the best thing to add is. Is cocoa low in calories and sugar (in very small amounts like a teaspoon) or is there another idea?

Thanks!

Hi Gettingittogether,

1. See previous post on Weigth trackers: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=48327&start=15#p497721

2. Cocoa: Dr. McDougall mentions fat-free cocoa in his Starch Solution book, called "Wonderslim Wondercocoa Fat-Free Cocoa Powder".

Been on McDougall for 5months or so but struggling to drop last 10kgs (20pounds) which I need to do to assist in controlling blood pressure. My weakness seems to be fruits. Trying to gravitate towards low-calories fruits with my favorite being papaya. Anybody else with this challenge? Would love to hear any suggestions.

Thanks!

Okay, this is new to me. At 372.8 lbs and on 450 units of insulin a day, it is either Dr. McDougall's program or bariatric surgery. At 60, the thought of major surgery is frightening. Both require a new mindset and some hard work. If I'm going to put effort into my health, I would rather do it naturally. We gave up the car, bought bicycles and are forcing ourselves to move more. Frightening thought, but it is too easy to get in the car and not move. I'd like to get off of disability and resume a productive life.

Hi! I am so happy to meet others following this program! I was a "fat vegan" for most of the nineties then an obese vegetarian for many years after. I believed that olive oil was a nutrient. I have been eating this way for a month and I love it. So happy to be vegan again, I know this is right for me. Now to get the weight off for good. I lost 115 pounds on weight watchers in 2008-09 and have gained half of that back. I hate counting!!!!

Did great until evening meal and was famished for CAKE. So had pancakes for dinner.

Broccoli 288 g
beans 300g
rice 230 g
80 g Frank’s Sweet Chili sauce
2 c pancake mix
½ c log cabin syrup

pancake mix is not compliant; will have to find a compliant recipe I can keep at the ready

Let's see if my first try with the weight ticker works!

I have to tell everyone that I've been trying to lose weight for ages and ages and have been doing so vegan with no results. But this week, since I've been with this group and really trying to focus is the first time I've seen the scale move in at least a year!

The best thing about Weight Watchers is the accountability. The protein pushing and processed branded junk are annoying. This group provides plenty of support and accountability. Western NC is the land of great old timey music, biscuits, and barbecue. :)
