If you are very hungry and don't have access to other foods, is it healthier to eat a bagel with nothing on it or a package of a nut and raisin mix with not added oil?

I guess what I mean is it preferable to eat processed flour with no added oil or to eat the more calorie dense nuts and raisins?

I would eat the nuts and raisins because they are "closer to the way God made them"...much less processed, and the oils of the nuts are contained in the food that they are "packaged" in...

They are more calorie dense AND more nutrient dense. ;-)

I sometimes eat trail mix! Especially if I feel the need for sweets.

I would vote for the nuts and dried fruit. The nuts are real. Dried fruit still has about 1/3 of its original nutrient value. Bagels are... well other than the sesame seed garnish, they don't much resemble original plant source.

I recommend making sure we have access to healthy food for when we are home, on the road and away.

This way we ensure the situations where we don't, are rare, if ever.

Nuts, seeds and raisins are all food allowed on the program in limited quantities.
