Soy curls

Hey Jeff,
Don't know if I'll ever be able to log back in again, but I'll try anyway.
A number of people cooking compliant meals are using soy curls. It seems to me they are very like TVP, which is not in keeping with plan guidelines. Can you point me to discussions about these high protein plant based sources ( seitan, tofu, soy protein, ...).

Thank you.

Mark

While I myself don't consume them regularly, I have read that Soy Curls are a somewhat less processed, less concentrated product than TVP. As I understand, TVP is a by product of the soybean oil industry (the leftovers remaining after the oil has been expressed), while Soy Curls are whole soybeans that have been steam-cooked and "stretched" into the soy curls shape. So Soy Curls may have gone through a bit less overall processing, but will be higher in fat content than TVP.
