Thanks for the cheers!!

I didn't finish journaling Friday nor did I journal on Saturday. I did eat on program EXCEPT for licking the spatula after frosting a cake. Sweets are my downfall. I have not had a piece of the cake though and it doesn't even tempt me. Hoping the boys put a big ol' dent in that soon. :-)

Today I am wearing a smaller sized pair of jeans!!! I have quite the range of them in my closet (although this spring I did get rid of LOTS of smaller clothes because I thought I would never be revisiting them - oh darn, looks like I will have to buy new clothes when I get to those smaller sizes. ). The jeans are snug to tight around the waistband but feel great everywhere else and look oh so much better than the pair I have been wearing. That pair was baggy in the behind and getting too loose in the waist so I was constantly pulling them up. (posted on MWL lard birds thread as well).

I had a few slip ups that consisted of nibbles and licks of foods not allowed on MWL. :o Not an outright binge. I also was eating rice cakes almost every day.

CJJ -- Just catching up on your Journal today. I've never thought of adding vanilla to the oatmeal -- it sounds delightful! How much vanilla do you use?

Happy anniversary! That is also so great that DH loves the McD food -- mine does, too. :-)

And the baking w/o eating the dough -- WOW! I aspire to do the same. Cookies are the worst for me...there are so many repeated temptations. I just cannot make cookies right now.

Happy weekend!

I just pour in some vanilla, whatever looks right. I don't measure it. Same with the cinnamon. I don't use any sugar (or salt :? ) with my oatmeal.

I SHOULD make PB cookies for my family and then there is no way I would eat the dough. I can eat PB right out of the jar, have a PB sandwich but I will not let a PB cookie cross my lips. :P

Hope you have a great weekend too!

Sunday 10/24

I would probably see a 10 pound weight loss on the scales if I could just go to the bathroom :o . How can I NOT?? All this fiber? No dairy? I don't get it. :duh:

B- same ol' same ol' - oatmeal, blah blah blah
L-shredded wheat and light soy milk to wet it
D-apple, banana

NOTHING green today! Not good. Wasn't really hungry and wanted food I didn't have to 'fix'. :?

CJJ-
Hope you are feeling better. At the 10 day program, Dr. McDougall had flax seed (whole) on the breakfast table to put on oatmeal for those who were having digestive issues like yours. (I use ground flax every morning to help lower my cholesterol.)
I read your first post about wanting to go to the 10 day program. When I went in January, there were 24 of us, including 2 couples. Those of us who were not with spouses did not feel lonely--way too busy! But I found myself wishing my DH was there, to get all the information! And to meet all the great people. Mary McDougall thought it was funny when I met her the first night, and told her that she and the doctor were like rock stars to us! 8)
If you can swing it, it is DEFINITELY worth every penny. Even though I strayed over the summer, I still feel like I have the tools to come back.
You are doing great! Keep it up.

Amy in NH :)
