Zoey wrote:Katie, it's so fun following your adventures. Thanks for sharing. I don't think a day at the beach with lots of fruit will derail you at all. In fact, a day at the beach with too much fruit is like the perfect day.
Aaahh, your posts make me so hungry. Keep up the great progress!
Hey Zoey! Fingers crossed that I will still have a loss tomorrow! Thanks for your support and positive words

Back at the beach today! This time with my Garbanzo and Spinach Salad. I will have to look into some other cold salads (i.e. potato/pasta) as I know that the beans should be limited for MWL. Managed to down less fruit at the beach today and catch a lot of waves.
Breakfast
Steel Cut Oats
1 Tsp Brown Sugar
Peaches/Banana
Lunch
Garbanzo Spinach Salad
Dinner
Aloo Gobi with Basmati Rice (Still out of brown rice at Publix, so we are enjoying the white rice cheat... Brown rice is still my first love for rices though)
Broccoli
Snacks
Carrots
Cherries
Grapes
A few bites of Canteloupe
Roasted Potatoes

Well, now that it is the weekend, we are skipping the beach to avoid the crowds. Went for a walk down to the local playground with the family, and came back soaked in sweat! This Florida summer is no joke! After living in Colorado for 6 years, I seem to have lost any powers against the heat I had as a native Floridian. Ce la vie! Hit the grocery store today to restock on delicious food for our pre-planned menu this week
Breakfast
Steel Cut Oats
1 Tsp Brown Sugar
Banana/1/2 Apple
Lunch
Whole Wheat Pasta with FF Tomato Sauce and Broccoli
Mixed Vegetables
Dinner
Salad with Cherry Tomatoes, Bell Pepper, Cucumber, Red Onion, and FF Dressing
Chana Masala with Basmati Rice
Snacks
Grapes
Carrots
Cherries

Another hot day in Florida - still managed to get in a quick 2 mile walk. Had a 'fancy' MWL meal tonight that was delicious! I can see that eating 'fancy' is an easy way to derail progress, even if the foods are MWL compliant - I wanted to eat and eat and eat!! Moving forward, I will aim to keep things simple and avoid meals that are too fancy to avoid overeating.
Breakfast
Steel Cut Oats
1 Tsp Brown Sugar
Banana/Peach
Lunch
Chana Masala and Rice
Roasted Potatoes
Spring Leaf Salad with Peppers, Onion, Tomato, Cucumber, and FF Dressing
Dinner
Mediterranean Plate - All Homemade and Fat Free!
Dolmas, Falafel, Hummus, Bell Pepper, Carrots, Tomato, Pickles, Grapes (The family enjoyed olives and pita as well)
Snacks
Grapes
Carrots
Cherries

Mostly stayed inside today due to the weather - made it out for a short walk to the local cemetery. Will try to head back tomorrow with crayons and paper to take some rubbings of old and crumbly tombstones. Worked hard to make sure I had plenty of veggies today, as I felt yesterday they were lacking. Feel better today!

Hi Katie, just dropping in to say hello...us Katies need to stick together!
Well done for hanging in there whilst the family eat ice creams...this is the sort of thing that has derailed me. I am impressed by your fortitude.

Thanks for your encouraging words, Katie! To avoid vegan ice cream and similar treats, I have simply made myself feel like it is not food for me! It was really difficult to eat white rice while here in Florida, because I usually consider it food I do not eat, only brown! I wish you well on your journey.
